Carfora: Italy–Algeria cooperation for SMEs, shared development and employment beyond macroeconomics
In the video published below, Luigi Carfora explains the meaning and strategic value of the cooperation agreement launched between Italy and Algeria, a path that originated from the institutional visit to Algeria and was further consolidated during the end-of-year meeting held on December 27, marked by the strengthening of collaboration with ONSPEA.
This initiative is part of a vision of international cooperation that goes beyond a purely macroeconomic dimension, focusing instead on the concrete development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in both Italy and Algeria, which represent the true backbone of real economies and employment in both countries.
Unlike many international agreements primarily oriented toward large infrastructure projects or major strategic sectors, this cooperation framework aims to generate tangible opportunities for business, export and import, fostering economic growth, job creation and long-term productive relationships between the Italian and Algerian business ecosystems.
Starting from Southern Italy and the Campania region, yet within a fully national perspective that involves Italy as a whole, from North to South, this initiative seeks to build operational bridges between enterprises, skills and markets, enhancing the role of the Mediterranean as a natural space for economic cooperation and shared development.
Special emphasis is placed on integrated and interconnected training pathways between the two countries, as well as on technological exchange, innovation and the digitalisation of production processes, which are essential elements for strengthening the competitiveness of SMEs and supporting a sustainable and shared transition.
The video highlights the core philosophy of this commitment: fewer declarations and more projects, less abstract macroeconomics and more enterprise, employment, training, technology and real economic impact, in the interest of both the Italian and Algerian peoples and their respective economies.
